Arrival and City Highlights
Upon arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel.
Begin your exploration with a visit to the National Museum of Ethiopia, where you will see the famous 3.2-million-year-old fossil “Lucy”, one of the most important discoveries in human evolution.
Continue to Holy Trinity Cathedral, an important religious landmark and burial site of Emperor Haile Selassie.
Later visit the Ethnological Museum, located in the former palace of Emperor Haile Selassie. The museum offers fascinating insight into Ethiopia’s diverse cultures and traditions.
In the afternoon stroll through the vibrant Merkato, one of the busiest and most colorful markets in Africa.
Overnight: Addis Ababa
Experience
After breakfast drive to Mount Entoto, the historic hills north of the city that once served as the capital of Emperor Menelik II.
From here enjoy spectacular panoramic views over Addis Ababa and learn about the history of the city. Visit the old churches and small museums located on the hilltop.
Later return to the city to explore local neighborhoods, cultural centers, and artisan markets. During the afternoon you will experience the traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony, an important part of Ethiopian hospitality and culture.
In the evening enjoy a traditional Ethiopian dinner accompanied by live music and cultural dance performances representing the many ethnic groups of Ethiopia.
Overnight: Addis Abeba
discover the modern and artistic side of Addis Ababa. Visit contemporary art galleries, cultural institutes, and vibrant city districts where traditional culture blends with modern life.
Depending on your schedule, you may take an optional excursion to Debre Libanos Monastery, one of the most important religious sites in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, located in the scenic highlands north of Addis Ababa.
Return to the city for shopping, relaxation, and final exploration before your departure.
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
